Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Freespace Operations Pty Ltd (ABN 93 634 747 854) ("Freespace", "we", "us") is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in our dealings with you.

The information we collect

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number, organisation and position.
  • Enquiry details: your industry, the type of enquiry, the operation you describe, your country of operation, the payload, altitude and configuration you choose in Build your Callisto, and anything you write in a message to us.
  • Marketing preference: whether you have agreed to receive news from us.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser and device, which our hosting provider processes to deliver this website and protect it from misuse.

We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health information or information about your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions or religious beliefs. Please do not include it in a form or email.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you: through the forms on this website, by email, by phone and when we meet you.

When we assess an enquiry against export control and sanctions requirements, we also check publicly available lists. If someone else gives us your details, for example a partner who refers you to us, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.

Where it is practicable, you can deal with us without identifying yourself, for example by asking a general question by phone. To reply in writing or send you a specification sheet, we need your name and email address.

Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry, send you the specification sheet you asked for and prepare for a conversation about your operation;
  • check that we can lawfully supply you, including export control, sanctions and end-use checks;
  • supply, support and train you if you become a customer;
  • send you occasional news about Freespace, only if you have agreed to receive it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to stop at any time;
  • operate, secure and improve this website; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above, with:

  • service providers who host this website, hold our customer records and run our email. They may use it only to provide their service to us;
  • a training, integration or regional partner, where that is needed to progress your enquiry or a supply. We will tell you before we share your details;
  • government agencies, including export control authorities, where the law requires or authorises it; and
  • our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where they need it to advise us.

Information held overseas

Our customer records are held in Australia. Some of our service providers are based in, or store information in, the United States. If an overseas partner is involved in your enquiry, your details will go to the country where that partner is located, and we will tell you which country before we share them.

We take reasonable steps to make sure that overseas recipients handle your information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Analytics and cookies

This website does not use cookies to track you or to show you advertising. We measure visits with a cookieless analytics service. It records aggregated information, such as the page visited, the referring website, country, browser and device type, and it does not identify you.

Because we do not track visitors across other websites, this website behaves the same way whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.

Build your Callisto stores your selections in your browser's local storage so that you can return to them. They stay on your device until you clear them in your browser settings.

How we protect and keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Information sent through this website is encrypted in transit, and access to our records is limited to the people who need it.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it:

  • If an enquiry does not proceed, we delete or de-identify your details within two years of our last contact with you.
  • If you become a customer, we keep your records for as long as the relationship continues and afterwards for as long as the law requires.
  • If you unsubscribe from our news, we keep a record of that so that we do not email you again.

Access and correction

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting our Privacy Officer. We will respond within 30 days, and we do not charge for a request. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will tell you why in writing.

If you are outside Australia

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom and data protection law there applies to how we handle your information, we rely on:

  • our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business;
  • our legal obligations, including export control and record keeping;
  • the performance of a contract, where you are a customer; and
  • your consent, for news emails. You can withdraw it at any time.

You may also have the right to ask us to erase or restrict the use of your information, to object to how we use it and to receive it in a portable format. You can complain to the data protection authority where you live, but we would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.

Children

This website is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact our Privacy Officer. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au (opens in a new tab) or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
